旅遊旺季：
整個5月開始一直到9月中旬是澎湖所謂的旅遊旺季，大部分的假日都是萬頭鑽動人滿為患，不管是機票還是住宿都要提早搞定，在旅遊旺季的遊客分佈上還是有些差異性，分析如下：
- 每年6月15號以前學生還沒放假，所以這段期間來的以阿公阿嬤旅行團跟小家庭為主，尤其是阿公阿嬤旅行團真是爆多，搭船出海的時候你會有一種襁褓的感覺。這段期間非假日的時段遊客比較沒那麼擁擠，不管是水上活動或住宿跟機票，非假日的時候都還好處理。尤其是這些阿公阿嬤不會去玩水上活動，所以在吉貝或東海的水上活動往往是帳棚涼亭下人擠人，海上空蕩蕩。
- 到了6月下旬學生放假，就開始蝗蟲過境了，整個澎湖不管是假日或是非假日都人滿為患，以學生團跟情侶團為主，板主讀高中的時候，這時候通常是我們去海邊搜索比基尼女郎的時間。這段期間機票跟住宿更緊，而且水上活動這些活動，年輕人體力好，一遍又一遍也不覺得疲累，相對的排隊都要排比較久。
- 到了8月初到9月初適逢農曆鬼月，忌諱外出旅遊的人多一點，不僅阿公阿嬤團會消失，學生團體也會少一點，因為父母會阻止，於是這段時間以零散的小團體為主，遊客又集中在假日為主，平日的遊客人潮又會下降一點。
- 過了鬼月到了8月底一直到9月中，學生開學前會有最後一波遊客人數高峰期，加上澎湖旅遊旺季已經進入尾聲，因此團體遊客會再度回籠，9月初對於旅遊業者來說又會是一波好光景，但也是最後一波了。這時期平假日的人潮會比較平均，機位住宿也要提早處理。
淡季的開始：
- 過了中秋，澎湖就只剩下真的很喜歡澎湖或是來吹風的遊客，以及一些釣客，澎湖，要裝進東北季風中冰起來囉！這時候不管是機票或者住宿都很好處理，不但可以當天出發再處理都沒問題，甚至連價格上都有很大的彈性空間可以議價，冬季旅遊澎湖其實是十分經濟實惠的
