2003夏季，一次不在計劃中的旅程我來到了東吉。東吉全名是澎湖縣望安鄉東吉村，是台灣少數沒有固定交通工具與外界 往返的村落。這裡曾經也是個人口不少的島嶼，目前只剩十多人居住，當我們到島上時是16人居住在島上，我想東吉的村長大 概是台灣實際管轄人數最少的村長吧！？
東吉是澎湖最東的島嶼，離台南比到馬公還近，目前要到東吉必須包船前往，並沒有任何固定的交通船往返。從台南則有 海釣船會前往，因為此地魚況佳，一直都是釣客的最愛。大家都聽過祖先從大陸渡海來台，就是渡過黑水溝，黑水溝不僅只是 台灣海峽的稱謂，而是有實際的地點。黑水溝實際的位置就是在東吉島東方的海面上，是一處暗流洶湧的區域，根據潛水的前 輩說：在海底如果兩人上升時間相差10秒，浮出水面後兩人距離會相差約一公里。可以想像當地流速之快，這邊一直都是潛水 者的天堂，也是一處危險的潛點。 東吉目前設有燈塔一座，以及氣象觀測站一座。地形相當開闊，在夏天前往如果沒有遮陽設施，那會是相當可怕的。很多 愛旅遊的人都一定夢想著去無人島，台灣目前無人島並不多。澎湖有幾個島居住人數非常之少，也幾乎沒有觀光客，最多只有 我們這種包船前往的少數訪客，或是釣客前往。如東嶼坪、西嶼坪、以及我今天介紹的東吉，總人口都在二十人以下，但是他 們曾經是設有學校的喔！初到東吉有種震撼感.，因為海水實在太乾淨了！七美的水已經很乾淨了，而東吉更是乾淨。下船後 港邊就有許多螃蟹爬來爬去，人接近後並不會閃躲，大約有手掌大，七美了不起只有他的一半大，台灣嘿嘿我就不說了，大家 都知道。
