  險礁嶼上頭的八釐米蔚藍，這間屋子藍色屋頂搭配蔚藍的澎湖晴空與碧綠海水潔白沙灘還真是一絕啊，雖然站長對北海評價普通，但是不得不說這間房子有它的韻味
  • 澎湖有句俗諺是這麼說的：「鳥嶼無鳥、貓嶼無貓、尖嶼不尖、險礁不險。」，這句有韻味的俗諺提到了險礁地形與島嶼名稱上容易讓人困惑的地方。很多遊客到了險礁都會狐疑說：奇怪？明明是座平坦的沙灘島，一點也看不出有何險峻的地形景觀，為何叫做險礁呢？其實島名所謂的險形容的並不是島上的地形，而是指周圍海域上佈滿了暗礁，對行船人來講這個海域是十分的危險，一沒不小心可能船隻就會觸礁沈沒，所以才將這座島嶼取名為險礁，提醒過往的船隻要小心這片海域。站友們可以從附近海域海水顏色層次變化極為明顯，就可以知道附近海域深淺不一且變化激烈。
  • 險礁剛好位在吉貝島跟赤崁的中段，所以要前往北海吉貝旅遊的遊客都會在快艇上眺望到這一座白色沙灘組合而成的島嶼。險礁除了島嶼東面有快些裸露的玄武岩石層以外，其餘的地方都是由珊瑚碎屑和貝殼碎屑組合而成，島上的沙子不是很細緻的貝殼沙，是屬於粗粒砂質的海灘。附近海域由於暗礁羅佈反而讓海水的色澤更為迷人豐富，碧綠與蔚藍間陳，其實這樣的一片海域原本應該是熱帶魚生態豐富的地方，但是因為長期旅遊活動開發的結果導致險礁近岸的海生態資源似乎有所破壞。
  • 這幾年險礁爆紅，因為中視偶像劇「原味的夏天」就是在險礁島拍攝，電視公司在島上利用原本的石板屋搭建了一座兩層樓的藍色小屋，取名為八釐米蔚藍。藍色小屋與險礁島碧海藍天金色沙灘的印象深深烙印在遊客的心裡，許多遊客都嚮往前往一遊，加上在往吉貝的快艇上遠眺藍色小屋和險礁島絕妙的色調美感搭配，使得險礁沈寂幾年後又再受到遊客青睞。

• 建議玩法：
  • 可以將險礁島排入北海一日遊的中繼站，水上活動看是要在吉貝或險礁島進行皆可，不從事水上活動者停留約1.5小時，從事水上活動者停留約3小時。
  • 北海險礁半日遊，可以在險礁從事水上活動，比較不會無聊，因為島上除了藍色小屋拍照以外，要自己很會自得其樂地在海邊玩，不然很快發現沒地方跑。
  • 險礁島上烤肉。不過中午烤肉的話就真的是火上加火，還真的滿熱的，雖然有遮陽的地方。
  • 八釐米蔚藍住宿，八釐米蔚藍目前為名揚快艇公司所有，有提供遊客住宿服務，但是必須選擇包棟服務，也就是整團成員一起包下藍色小屋住宿過夜，在島上過夜其實是不錯的情調，可以下午再過去險礁即可，第二天一早回本島。
• 澎湖人的老記憶：
  • 險礁島是一座無人島嶼，據說以前島上棲息了許多珍貴的保育類候鳥，但是現在島上已經很少看見鳥類，大概是環境受到破壞後紛紛遷徙。島上因為是沙洲，所以植物以沙洲植物的牽牛花跟蔓荊為主。
  • 島上以前有間石板屋，據說有個老人家自己長期住在島上，過著沒電的生活也自得其樂，有遊客就嚮往與世隔絕的無人島生活，所以就拎著帳棚要去險礁體驗一晚沒水沒電的生活，據說傍晚被蚊子叮到受不了就溜回本島了。島上蚊子為什麼會多我就不清楚囉！
