裸露的咾咕石牆說明許家村古厝歷經的風霜歲月，更說明了保存古厝的原味遠比胡亂換裝來得重要

- 站長先說個想法，許家村彩繪壁畫是個粗糙，對歷史沒情感，工法拙劣又缺乏遠見的觀光行銷計畫。原本是澎湖一落四櫸頭傳統聚院雲集的許家村，卻在古牆上抹上這些紅紅綠綠的彩繪圖騰，新不新，舊不舊，不但扼殺了許家村古老聚落的韻味，也徹底毀滅了一座澎湖古宅社群。
- 許家村的建築保留澎湖傳統院落的子孫巷、咾咕牆、牛車道，更有類似隘門防禦工事的八卦巷，其中許家村29號的建築更有精湛的裝飾壁畫跟建築特色欣賞。然而這些特色或許都在彩繪壁畫的浮濫消費中被忽略了！

- 許家村的海岸線是也非常遼闊，站長很喜歡他們港口邊的濱海村道，騎車在港口邊閒晃是非常舒服的。
- 跟古厝的彩繪壁畫合影是一般遊客被行銷跟教育的許家村玩法，不過站長覺得這不是許家村的重點。
- 站長在這裡提供大家鑑賞三間許家村古厝的指引，站友如果到了許家村或許可以去找找這幾間古厝，瞭解一下澎湖先民生活空間的智慧跟裝置藝術：
- 許家村50號：
- 古厝旁邊有澎湖聚落頂少出現的隘門巷設施，主要是為了防止盜賊之用，隘門巷上頭都還保留門楣。
- 許家村26號(已經改建)：
- 這間古厝非常特殊，正面採取的是閩南風格的正立面跟門樓建築，垂直而上的二樓卻是西洋巴洛克風的建築，這在澎湖也算是特例的建築方式。
- 許家村29號：
- 這可是鼎鼎大名的澎湖古厝，最特別的是燕尾翹的屋簷設計，一般這只有官宅或廟宇才可以使用的，卻在這棟民宅當中被運用於屋頂，可見在地方上一定頗有來頭。加上水井、竹節窗、美輪美奐的磁磚壁畫等等，都使得這一棟在1922年所建的古宅格外引人入勝。
