西嶼濱海公路的竹灣段頗有蘇花公路的味道，當退潮裸露出沙灘時更佳風采迷人

- 西嶼濱海公路的美可以歸納出幾點：
- 地質景觀：
- 竹灣到二崁路段、大菓葉路段、赤馬路段有豐富發達的柱狀玄武岩與海蝕平台。
- 沙灘潔淨：
- 濱海公路從合界一直到赤馬段佈滿了大小不一的沙灘，站長統計過至少有六片沙灘羅布在這段海域，由於該海域沙灘並非遊客活動區域，所以不但潔淨，沙灘上更有許多美艷的貝殼跟小石子。來此處戲水時，記得別帶走貝殼及沙子，讓美麗繼續留在原地吧！
- 公路迂迴：
- 濱海公路並非直線道路，公路蜿蜒曲折，竹灣到二崁路段更有段陡坡，一面為玄武岩大石高聳矗立，另一面陡峭懸崖得一覽遠方海上船隻及箱網，頗有蘇花公路的海岸風情。
- 構圖豐富：
- 濱海公路位於西嶼島東方，遠眺就是馬公，因此濱海公路眺望海上風光不是單調的一片蔚藍，有馬公的島影在不遠處襯托。
- 景點多：
- 站友北環時不管是往或返，最佳的選擇是其中一趟走西嶼濱海公路，體驗西嶼的美。
