- 澎湖北吉光背包客民宿位於南環著名的景點山水沙灘附近，步行約五分鐘即可到達沙灘。
- 民宿兩位年輕的主人都是來自於台灣，在求學時期是就是同學，兩人有著共同的興趣就是喜歡四處自助旅遊，也到過不同國家當過背包客，其中對於澎湖的自然美景更是念念不忘，一直想推薦給各地熱愛自助旅行的背包客，如今藉由民宿的成立一步一步的來實現夢想。
- 民宿風格類似國外的背包客棧，提供價格便宜、乾淨整潔的上下舖住宿，每個房間皆有可上鎖的置物櫃，不用擔心東西被偷取；房間有特別為女性旅客保留的專屬客房，女性旅客可在訂房時向民宿指定，也設有女性專屬衛浴間。
- 對於澎湖也興起國內外單人背包客旅行來說，這類可以提供單人住宿床位的民宿實在很方便，價位便宜又設備齊全，即使一人住宿也可以壓在600上下的價位，北極光又有新開的乾淨新穎優勢
- 1樓為公共區域交誼廳，有公用電視、公用電腦、飲料販賣機、閱讀區，可以認識來自各地的背包客，互相交流分享旅遊心得，另外還有簡易廚房、戶外沖沙區、洗衣機、晾衣區。

- 電話訂房服務時間為每天早上9:00至晚上10:00
- 每床限1人使用
- 房型分為女性專屬客房及一般房(不分性別混合住宿)兩種。女性旅客可指定入住女性專屬客房，請於訂房時特別註明「希望入住女性專屬客房」，未註明者將依照現場床位調度安排
- 預訂之床位依照現場床位調度，不接受指定入住特定房間或特定床位。如有任何其他特殊需求，請於預訂時註明，可盡量安排
- 於網路或電話訂房後，必需於三天內匯訂金50%，並於匯款後來電確認，才算完成訂房。三天內未完成匯款則不予保留床位或房間
- 提供包棟服務
- 取消訂房：於入住前3天通知取消訂房(不含入住日)，可保留訂金6個月。 匯款後若因天災（如遇地震、颱風等天災）等不可控因素（以本店所在縣市公告為準），不受以上天數之限制，可全額退費
- 住宿須知：
- 入住時間下午2:00以後，退房早上11:00以前
- 櫃檯服務時間為早上9:30~晚上8:00（若無法於服務時間內抵達，請來電預約入住時間）
- 入住時請出示您的身份證件或護照及付清床位租金，退房時請將寢具備品及鑰匙歸還給服務人員，如有損毀或遺失照價賠償
- 貴重物品請自行小心保管，切勿放於置物櫃內，如有遺失，恕不擔負賠償責任
- 房間內禁止抽煙、酗酒、吃異味重的食物以及大聲喧嘩。如需播放音樂，請使用耳機。晚上十點後，請控制音量
- 為維護其他房客權益，房客喧鬧不止時，屢經勸阻無效，可要求房客立即退房，恕不退還房費
- 不提供一次性丟棄的備品，需自備毛巾及個人盥洗用品
- 洗澡熱水供應時間，每日下午4:00~凌晨1:00止
- 客房內冷氣供應時間：每日下午4:00~隔日早上9:00止
