澎湖好好玩／西台古堡很美 東台古堡像希臘
澎湖西嶼的「西台古堡」因為歷史久、城牆線條美、天空藍、光影變化多，因此一直以來就很受遊客喜愛，並有許多人特地來到此處拍婚紗或寫真。不過，很少人知道其實西台古堡附近還有一個「東台古堡」，這個古堡直到2、3年前才解除軍事管制，其建築結構類似西台古堡，但有些角度比西台古堡更美。
更吸引人的是，東台古堡因為少人知道，目前也還不收30元門票，而且幾乎沒有遊客人潮，喜歡攝影拍照的，來此更能盡情取景，不用擔心忽然冒出的人頭。
東台古堡與西台古堡都是當年為了防禦台海而建的城堡建築，視野非常遼闊，例如從西台古堡可以清楚遠見虎井、桶盤嶼、風櫃與整個澎湖內灣，從東台古堡則可遠眺牛心山與整條西嶼濱海公路；兩個城堡本身的建築與貯彈室、砲台基地、外圍防禦郭牆等等防禦工事也都保存非常完整，因此除了是國家級古蹟外，來此也可想見當年清朝水師訓練時的景象與生活場景。
西台古堡因為開放較早，因此人氣較旺，古堡入口處前的炸花枝丸與青草茶也很美味。東台古堡直到前兩年才解除軍事管制，雖然澎湖縣政府曾經稍微整修，但目前依然十分荒涼，也幾乎沒有人潮，但因整個古堡統統漆成白色，另有些許部分帶著斑駁橘色，在藍天白雲之下很有希臘味。
要前往西嶼的東台古堡與西台古堡，從馬公市出發前往大約30幾公里，路程大約50分鐘，出發前可至澎湖各地旅遊服務中心索取「澎湖祕徑旅遊地圖」，沿著「菊之徑」路線即可抵達，沿途並可觀賞跨海大橋、整片草原的天人菊等景觀，並可前往當年先總統蔣經國先生的民間友人呂九屏所經營的「清心飲食店」，店內的海鮮料理如炸大蝦，或是澎湖鄉土料理如絲瓜、金瓜米粉等等非常知名。
