  • 介紹：
    • 吉貝古定名為嘉貝，因島嶼形狀宛如一枚美麗的螺貝漂浮在海面上，因此先民稱呼這個島嶼為嘉貝嶼，後期以諧音改名為吉貝。
    • 吉貝與為澎湖北海中最大的有人島，吉貝島北方的目斗嶼則為澎湖最北的地標。吉貝島觀光發展甚早，1970年左右便以吉貝沙尾數千公尺沙灘的美景拓展觀光發展的能見度，時至今日，吉貝島成為澎湖各島嶼中觀光民宿密度、水上活動業者數量最高的地區，整個吉貝島住民絕多數仰賴觀光產業，僅少數還繼續從事漁業捕撈作業。
    • 也因此吉貝碼頭自然成為本海中最忙碌的港口，每日來自本島赤崁、後寮碼頭的快艇往來穿梭，將上千遊客送入吉貝島，每頭區無時不停靠數艘並排的快艇，景象繁忙，遊人如織。吉貝海域也是夏季丁香的漁場因此除了遊艇停靠碼頭外，不少丁香捕撈船隻也緊偎著碼頭區，乘為遊艇與漁船各立一方的富裕景象。
    • 吉貝碼頭區綿密的商家提供完整的食宿服務，聯營租車也在碼頭區供遊客下船後可直接租車使用，並有遊客服務中心做為遊客諮詢與休憩的場所。
